Programming
The Life Skills Office utilizes a web-based early alert system entitled Aviso. This program provides the central framework for monitoring student progress. The faculty report class attendance and enter reports into Aviso for excessive absences, missing assignments, inattention, praises, and more. Members of the the team contact students by phone or email for resolution.
The program is designed to lead students toward self-authorship in college and empowering students as they assimilate to university culture, learn life success skills, and become involved in life of the Chowan University community. The Success Coaching Program utilizes an interactive process which encourages and challenges students to create academic and professional goals. Students are selected and invited to participate in the mentoring program.
