Dr. Torrence Gill, Assistant Professor of Biology at Chowan University, proudly delivered a donated 3D Printer to Whitaker Library this week.
The donation came by way of Andres Sandoval-Mojica, Entomology Lead Scientist, & Brian Hossfeld, Automation Expert, from AgBiome out of the Research Triangle in North Carolina. The donated 3D printer will be housed in the university’s Whitaker Library, making it accessible to the entire campus. “Professors can use the 3D printer to create customizable teaching tools for their classrooms, shared Sarah Bonner, Interim Director of Library Services, shared. “They can also create assignments for students. 3D printing is a good skill for students to learn because it is being used in some really innovative ways. It teaches students problem-solving, creative thinking, and collaboration, to name a few life skills.”
