Chowan University Welcomes JaCinda Griffin as Enrollment Advisor
Chowan University is pleased to announce the appointment of JaCinda Griffin as a new Enrollment Advisor. In this role, formerly known as Admissions Counselors, Griffin will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students, their families, and school counselors, providing guidance and support throughout the enrollment process.
Griffin, a proud graduate of Chowan University, holds a bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Wellness, and Sport, with a minor in Coaching and Sports Management. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Counseling & Psychology at Bellevue University. Her educational background and personal experiences make her a valuable asset to the university’s enrollment team.
Reflecting on her time as a student at Chowan, Griffin expressed her excitement about joining the faculty. “I spent all four years of my undergrad here, and being a student was exciting. But now, I am able to be a part of the staff that made my experience great,” she said. “My role here at Chowan will be to assist new students with enrollment and share my experience in order to allow others to have the same.”
Chowan University’s Interim Director of Admissions, Taylor Furlough, expressed enthusiasm about Griffin’s appointment. “We are very excited to welcome JaCinda to our staff. She was a great leader during her time as a student on campus, and is a great representation of a Chowan graduate,” Furlough said. “During her interview, she expressed her excitement about having the chance to bring in the future students of Chowan and be a guide to them during their time on campus. That is the mentorship we are looking for from our office.”
Griffin’s passion for Chowan University stems from the sense of community and unity she experienced during her time as a student. “I came to Chowan University because this was one of the few universities that gave a feeling of home and unity,” she explained. “Due to the town of Murfreesboro being smaller than most, the community is extremely close. I love that the town itself supports the campus in so many amazing ways, and it is always nice knowing that no matter what, someone is there for you.”
In addition to her academic pursuits, Griffin enjoys photography and has a deep love for animals. Her diverse interests and dedication to student success make her an excellent fit for her new role at Chowan University.
