Dr. Montrose Streeter Attends Transact Conference
On April 18, 2023, Vice President for Student Affairs at Chowan University, Dr. Montrose Streeter, attended the National Association of Campus Card Users (NACCU) Conference in Austin, Texas. Dr. Streeter led a workshop titled: “Empowering The Future: Creating Inclusive and Diverse Student Internship Programs.” Dr. Streeter presented alongside Dr. Carmelita Coleman, the Director of Inclusion, Diversity, and Social Responsibility at Transact Campus, Inc, as well as Ms. Mechelle King, the Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility with Transact Campus, Inc.
Chowan University is a client of Transact Campus, Inc. Students may be familiar with the Transact functions when remembering the transition to online identification cards that grant access to accommodation, cafeteria entry, and other campus card tap events. Transact has piloted a paid internship with three minority-serving institutions which includes Chowan University. Dr. Carmelita Coleman volunteered with our Student Affairs department during Welcome Week back in August, and since then, the university has strengthened personal and professional bonds with Transact professionals.
Students from Chowan have applied and been through an interview process to gain experience in the paid internship positions, with positive feedback already received from our students. Dr. Streeter added, “the relationship between our students and company is something we are proud to establish. The conference in Texas was enlightening and only builds on the fantastic service that Transact provides us as a university.”
Congratulations to Dr. Streeter on his presentation at the conference, and Chowan University wishes our students well in the next round of the interview process for Transact Campus, Inc paid internships.
