International Student Club Hosts Musical Event to Welcome President Thomas
Chowan University proudly welcomed its 24th President, Dr. Rosemary M. Thomas, with a captivating musical event night organized by the International Student Club. The evening showcased the remarkable talents of Chowan’s students, who mesmerized the audience with their guitar, piano, and electronic performances. Held in the Chowan Chapel, the event not only highlighted the students’ exceptional abilities but also served as a warm welcome to Dr. Thomas as she settles in on our campus.
The International Student Club, known for fostering cultural exchange and unity, orchestrated an unforgettable evening that perfectly captured the essence of Chowan University’s vibrant community. Dr. Rosemary Thomas expressed her appreciation to the students, stating, “I am grateful to you, and for you, for blessing me with your gifts here this evening…I am just overcome with joy and overcome with gratitude.” As the newly appointed President, Dr. Thomas’s presence at the event symbolized her dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive campus culture. Joining her at the event were Mrs. Austin Evans, Chair of the Board of Trustees, as well as representatives of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, of which Dr. Thomas has proudly been a member.
