Chowan Gives 2024 Exceeds Fundraising Goal, Raising Over $212,000 to Support Students’ Future
Chowan University surpassed its iconic goal of $175,000 for the 2024 Chowan Gives event while continuing to celebrate its 175th anniversary. In the 1,848 minutes of fundraising, 664 generous donors came together to surpass the goal, and $212,647 was raised. The campaign ended with a total funding percentage of 121% and encompassed a variety of challenges, all aimed at promoting student success.
The outpouring of support from alumni, staff, faculty, students, friends, and community members has paved the way for significant advancements in concentrated fundraising endeavors. Thanks to their contributions, numerous projects have received vital funding, including athletic support for new gear and travel, financial assistance for students facing internship costs, advancements in classroom technology, and the completion of the on campus Crime Lab, among others.
One of the most exciting project accomplishments was the culmination of the Chowan Christian Service Association Missions Endowment reaching one million dollars. The CCSA Missions fund helps assist our students in the cost of being able to serve both domestically and internationally. Our students are able to travel around the world to share their faith and grow their community. With this fund, almost 600 students have been able to travel on 32 mission trips with Chowan University. The CCSA Missions fund will ensure that students will be able to keep boldly serving around the world.
Ashley Gustafson, Director of Annual Giving, shared her thoughts on the support that we saw from donors. When asked her thoughts, she shared that, “Chowan Gives 2024 was a huge success because of you. Thank you to our alumni, friends and supporters for Giving Back to the Future of Chowan University!”
Chowan Gives 2024 has proven to be a pivotal event, enabling the university to provide enhanced opportunities and resources for its students. Without the unwavering support of our donors, these projects would remain mere aspirations. Chowan University extends its heartfelt gratitude to the 664 individuals who selflessly contributed to Give Back to the Future.
The funds raised during Chowan Gives 2024 will directly benefit Chowan University’s students, empowering them to excel academically and athletically. By investing in their future, donors have played a vital role in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.
