Eric George Named Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Eric George of the Chowan Men’s Lacrosse team continues to shine on the field and in the classroom as the junior was selected as the Conference Carolinas Spring Scholar-Athlete of the Year for Men’s Lacrosse presented by Hudl.
The Scholar-Athlete awards Presented by Hudl are awarded annually to one individual in each Conference Carolinas sponsored sport. The Scholar-Athlete of the Year winners are chosen by the Conference Carolinas Student-Athlete Affairs and Awards Committee.
For the second consecutive year, a member of the Chowan Men’s Lacrosse team was selected as Jackson Downs earned the honor in 2022. Eric George joins an elite group of Chowan student-athletes to receive the honor as only four Hawks have been selected.
Eric George earned First Team All-Conference this season, along with Conference Carolinas Academic All-Conference and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District. George has a cumulative 3.9574 grade-point average while averaging 4.73 points per game and 3.34 goals per game in his career.
To be considered, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 or higher. In addition, the nominees for the award must have been named all-conference in their sport and also chosen academic all-conference.
