Women’s Lacrosse Earns First Win

The Chowan Women's Lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a win over Emmanuel in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

THE BASICS

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE

Tashana Barnett produced a career-high five goals and one assist.  Misten White recorded a hat-trick.

Jasmine Latney and Jordan Nicholson tallied three points as Latney scored twice and added an assist.  Nicholson scored once and posted two assists.  Karly Timmons and Lela Knight scored once.

Mallory Dunker picked up the win in goal with 13 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Half:

Misten White put the Hawks on the board early in the opening frame off an assist from Karly Timmons.  Tashana Barnett scored two goals, one off a free position to lead 3-0.

Following an Emmanuel goal, Jasmine Latney scored of Tahvae Burton's assist to lead 4-1 heading into the intermission.

Second Half:

Karly Timmons and Tashana Barnett would score to increase the lead to 6-1 early in the half.  Barnett scored off Jordan Nicholson's assist.

Emmanuel would cut the deficit to 7-4 after Misten White scored off Jasmine Latney's pass.

The Hawks quickly added a goal by Lela Knight and Jordan Nicholson to lead 9-4.  Tashana Barnett added two more goals to push the Hawks to an 11-4 advantage.

Jasmine Latney scored off a pass from Tahvanee Burton with 35 seconds left.  Misten White found the back of the net off a pass from Jordan Nicholson with nine ticks left to take the 13-4 victory.
