CHARLOTTE, N.C. – In the opening week of the 2017-18 Men's Basketball season, Chowan's Gus Rowland and Head Coach Brett Vincent picked up CIAA Weekly Honors.

Gus Rowland earned CIAA Rookie of the Week posting his first double-figure scoring outing of his collegiate career scoring 15 points against Piedmont International.  Rowland, Richmond, Va. native, added three rebounds, three assists, and three steals to round out his performance.

Head Coach Brett Vincent earned CIAA Coach of the Week honors as the Hawks were led to a 92-47 thumping of Piedmont International as the team defense held the Bruins to 16 points in the second half.
