Chowan Baseball: Hawks Have Banner Day to Celebrate Seniors
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO, NC – The Chowan University baseball team picked up two wins on Saturday afternoon against Salem International University. Chowan pounded out 20 hits as a team to take game one 14-6. They won game two with a final score of 6-2 to run their overall record to 23-21.
Chowan collected three home runs and seven doubles in game one with five players garnering multiple hit games. Connor Arcobasso tallied four hits in five at-bats and scored three runs while Marquise Lanier and Aaron Flanagan collected three hits each. Marvin Harrell, Jr., Trent Brosdahl, and Emory Chopp each collected two hits. Jake Moore pitched the win after throwing the first three innings. He gave up three runs on six hits. Vinny Puma and Matt Kaplan each pitched in relief of Moore.
Chowan took game two with a final score of 6-2. The team pounded out nine hits, led by Marquise Lanier who went 2-2. Zack Cooper picked up his fifth win of the season after throwing four innings and striking out four Tiger batters. Bailey Lipscomb pitched one inning in relief.
