Chowan MLAX: CU’s Nick Lavoy & Anthony Alfonso Atop NCAA D2’s Best in Men’s Lacrosse
MURFREESBORO, NC – Two of Chowan's men's lacrosse players sit atop several of the NCAA's statistical categories after the NCAA compiled recent game statistics through March 28th, 2017.
Midfielder Nick Lavoy is ranked 5th in NCAA D2 in points per game at 5.25. The Ottawa, Ontario, Canada native has scored 28 goals and handed out 14 assists for 42 season points. He is also tied with teammate Anthony Alfonso, Jr. for most goals scored in a single game (8) in any NCAA D2 match this season. Alfonso posted eight goals in a 22-7 win over Emmanuel College on March 25th. Lavoy scored eight goals in a 22-17 loss to Davis & Elkins earlier this season.
Lavoy also ranks first in points per game and total points (42) in the Conference Carolinas.
Alfonso, Lavoy and the Hawks will hit the field again on Wednesday, March 29th, in a Conference Carolinas match at the University of Mount Olive. Face off is slated for 4:00pm in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
