Chowan University Hosted 26 Companies at Annual Career Fair
MURFREESBORO, NC – Chowan University hosted its 3rd annual Career Fair on March 20, 2017. Twenty-six companies attended the event to scout future employees. Roughly 140 students participated in hopes of networking with companies to help find future career paths.
The Career Fair brings businesses, companies and other organizations together to help students take the next step towards their future, exposing them to jobs, internships, and graduate schools. The Career Fair is a valuable resource for students seeking career opportunities, providing a hands on environment for students to practice marketing themselves. Making these opportunities available to students is one way Chowan prepares them for the best chance of success. It is increasingly important for job seekers to gain hands-on experience and demonstrate marketable skills.
Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to interview onsite with businesses in attendance. At least one company will return to campus to conduct further interviews. Several students attained job opportunities as a result of this fair. Others gained a networking opportunity and critical experience interacting with potential employers.
The event was free and open to students, alumni, and the community at large. For further information, please contact Alan Scott, Assistant Director of Residence Life-Career and Programs at scotta1@chowan.edu or (252) 398-6454.
