Chowan Softball Sweeps Doubleheader at the University of the Sciences
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Chowan University softball team improved to 21-16 on the season after picking up two wins on Sunday afternoon at the University of the Sciences. Chowan picked up a 3-0 first game win and a 7-0 second game win.
Kayla Robins struck out 15 batters in route to her 13th win of the season in the first game win. Danielle Baccus and Brittany Parson each collected two hits while Kris Neal went 1-3 with two runs batted in.
Tina White and Brook Bowen collected two hits each in the night cap win. Shelby Griffis picked up the win on the mound after throwing a complete game shut out. She scattered four hits and struck out two batters in her first win of the year.
Chowan will hit the field again on Saturday, April 1st when they play host to Elizabeth City State University in a CIAA Northern Division match up. First pitch is slated for 12:00pm at Hawks Field.
