Przestrzelski Joins Football Coaching Staff
MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University athletic department along with Head Football Coach Tim Place announced the addition of Nate Przestrzelski to the football coaching staff. Przestrzelski serves as Equipment Coordinator for the program. In this role, Przestrzelski oversees all football equipment, field and fieldhouse facility maintenance, video operations, and assists with the daily operations of the football program. Additionally, he assists with coaching the kickers, punters, and long snappers.
Prior to joining the staff at Chowan, Przestrzelski served as Special Teams and Defensive Quality Control Assistant with Utah State University. In that capacity, Przestrzelski scouted and analyzed opponents' special teams units, produced weekly scouting reports, and developed the special teams playbook. Under his direction, the Utah State special teams unit had two student-athletes garner Mountain West All-Conference honors. Defensively, Przestrzelski conducted scouting and analysis of opponents' offensive passing game and pass protections, produced the weekly defensive scouting report, and managed the passing game for the team's scout offense. During his time with the program, the team captured victories at the 2013 Poinsettia Bowl and 2014 New Mexico Bowl. The Aggies also finished runner-up in the Mountain West Conference during the 2013 season.
Prior to joining Utah State's coaching staff, Przestrzelski spent the 2012 season as an intern with the Florida International University football staff. As Special Teams Quality Control Assistant, Przestrzelski's scouting and analysis of opponents' special teams units and production of the weekly scouting reports helped move the program from a special teams rank of eighth in 2011 to first overall in the Sun Belt Conference in 2012. In addition, he supported the football operations staff with recruiting, filming and editing practice and game footage, monitoring athletes' academic progress, and organizing and supervising community service events.
During the fall of 2011, Przestrzelski served as an event and operations intern with the Orange Bowl Committee, leading the logistical elements of the festival, community, and game-day events for the Discover Orange Bowl. He also participated in a punting tryout with the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League prior to the 2011 season.
Przestrzelski began his coaching career as Special Teams Coordinator at Charles D. Owen High School in Black Mountain, North Carolina. He has also taught worked as a counselor with Ray Guy's ProKicker® camps.
Przestrzelski spent four years at East Carolina University as a punter, where he helped the Pirates to back-to-back Conference USA Championships in 2008 and 2009 as well as four-straight bowl appearances, including a 41-38 victory against Boise State in the 2007 Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl.
Przestrzelski earned his Master's degree in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University in 2012 and his Bachelor's degree in Sports Studies from East Carolina University in 2009.
