Mobley Tabbed to NCCSIA All-State First Team
GREENSBORO, NC- The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2016 College Division All-State Women's Basketball Team on Wednesday afternoon. Chowan University's Alisha Mobley was named to the NCCSIA All-State First Team. This year's NCCSIA First and Second Teams are comprised of ten student-athletes representing ten different North Carolina institutions.
Mobley, a native of Winchester, Virginia, was a three-time All-CIAA performer for the Hawks. This season, she averaged 16.1 points per game and 7.1 rebounds per contest. She graduated as the program's fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,219 career points and netted her 1,000th career point on January 20th. Mobley is the sixth player in program history to achieve the feat.
The Chowan women's basketball team posted a program-best 20-9 overall record this season. The Hawks reached the CIAA Tournament semifinals for the second time in program history and made their first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance after qualifying with an at-large bid.
Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina.
The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
NCCSIA selects all-state teams in the University (Division I) and College (Division II, III, NAIA) divisions for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, volleyball, softball, and baseball.
