Chowan University offers a 20 credit-hour chemistry minor intended to provide students with an understanding of fundamental concepts in chemistry through a combination of coursework and laboratory experiences. A chemistry minor is beneficial for students who intend to pursue graduate programs in a variety of disciplines (including biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental science, and mathematics) or who are preparing to enter professional programs in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science, or biotechnology. It is also an asset for students who intend to pursue employment in a laboratory setting (e.g., medical or pharmaceutical research) immediately after graduation.
