Business administration, Information Systems B.S.

Information Systems professionals manage the networks of hardware and software used to collect, filter, process, create and distribute data. In a world driven by the communication of information, IS professionals are crucial.

Students in the IS Concentration in the Department of Business focus on the application of information technology to solve business problems using a variety of tools and techniques. Our comprehensive courses, developed to meet best practices in the industry, are supplemented with core business courses that give students a broad understanding of business functions and processes. Small class sizes and hands-on application of technology enable students to gain proficiency with their IS skills.

To keep up with the leading edge of technology, Chowan University has partnered with Microsoft to give our students free access to many software tools through Microsoft DreamSpark. Students have access to industry-standard software such as server software, operating systems, Microsoft developer tools, and much more!

Employment opportunities in the Information Systems field abound!
