Chowan University Alumni turn out for Annual Alumni Game
Chowan University held its annual alumni appreciation game on Saturday, February 17th. The event, which aimed to honor and celebrate the university’s alumni, saw graduates come from all over to celebrate their time at Chowan.
The women’s and men’s basketball teams took to the court in front of a lively crowd consisting of students, alumni, community, and staff. The atmosphere was electric as everyone came together to support their beloved university. Both teams emerged victorious, adding to the excitement and jubilation of the day.
Chowan University’s Office of Advancement takes great pride in its alumni and recognizes the significant role they play in the institution’s success. As an institution with a love for community, the university places immense value on fostering a strong sense of community and ensuring that alumni feel appreciated and connected to their alma mater. Kay Thomas, Senior Development Director and the Director of Alumni Relations, was pleased to welcome everyone to the luncheon that took place between the women’s and men’s basketball games.
Ashley Gustafson, the Director of Annual Giving and Brave Hawks Club, excitedly encouraged the alumni to go one step further in showing their support by becoming Advocates for the University’s annual giving event, Chowan Gives 2024. By visiting chowan.edu/chowangives, staff, students, community members, and alumni are able to share a personal story as to why Chowan has meant so much to them, and how important it is to give back to the future students the university will see.
The alumni appreciation game serves as a reminder of the lasting impact Chowan University has on its graduates. It provides an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with old friends, reminisce about their time at the university, and witness the growth and progress that has taken place since their graduation.
Chowan University remains committed to creating meaningful experiences for its alumni and fostering a strong sense of community. The university looks forward to hosting future events that celebrate and honor its alumni, ensuring that they continue to feel valued and connected to their alma mater.
