Eure Baptist Church Highlights Chowan University during Sunday Service
On Sunday, January 29, Eure Baptist Church highlighted Chowan University during their morning worship service. Pastor Dr.Wayne Proctor, a member of the Chowan Ministerial Board of Associates, shared that he has enjoyed being a liaison between the church and the University and warmly welcomed the Chowan guests.
Director of Church and Community Relations Lou Ann Gilliam, brought greetings from the University and thanked the church for their faithful giving to the Eure Baptist Chowan Christian Service Association (CCSA) Scholarship. Their scholarship provides for students who have a calling to the ministry. Their recipient is sports science major, Deodre Brown’25. Brown is a member of Team 4:13 and is the peer chaplain on the University’s men’s lacrosse team. Gilliam also introduced the congregation to CCSA Scholar Destiny Vaughan’23, a graphic design and studio art major who uses her talents to design the University’s media posts #ScriptureSunday.
Gilliam delivered the morning message entitled “Being Barnabas.” In her remarks, she shared how Barnabas in Acts 4 was an encourager to the disciples and to the apostle Paul. She praised Eure Baptist for the way they encourage each other as well as students at Chowan.
