Chowan Announces 2020- 2021 Faculty Award Finalists
Chowan University announced the 2020-2021 finalists for several esteemed faculty awards. The Excellence in Teaching Award is an especially noteworthy honor as it is bestowed on a faculty member chosen by his or her university colleagues. This year’s finalists are Robbin Buller, Assistant Professor of Art; Edward Snyder, Associate Professor of History; Hunter Taylor, Assistant Professor of Business; Catherine Vickers, Instructor in English; and Pamela Woodard, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice.
The Chowan University Faculty Advisor of the Year Award is an annual honor that recognizes excellence in academic advising. All students, faculty and staff were invited to nominate an academic advisor. The finalists for the 2020-2021 Faculty Advisor of the Year Award are Ella Benson, Professor of Education; Ashley Doane, Associate Professor of Psychology; Sarah Reed, Assistant Professor of Economics; Edward Snyder, Associate Professor of History; and Hunter Taylor, Assistant Professor of Business.
The Chowan student body selects the recipient of the Alpha Chi Teacher of the Year Award. The finalists for the 2020-2021 Alpha Chi Teacher of the Year Award are W. Thomas Collins, Professor of Sport Management; James “Bo” Dame, Professor of Physical Sciences; Ashley Doane, Associate Professor of Psychology; Edward Snyder, Associate Professor of History; and Shannon Williams, Associate Professor of Accounting.
