Chowan University Places in Phi Beta Lambda State Conference
Chowan University ranked in the awards at the 64th Annual Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) State Leadership Conference. Not only was the Chowan University chapter of PBL awarded second place in Eastern Region Chapter Membership, but the three student representatives placed in the top ten when they competed in conference events.
Malek Leach of Petersburg, VA, was awarded 5th place in Project Management while Jessica Lewis of Knightdale, NC, was awarded 6th place in Marketing Concepts. Kimlin Sykes of Newport News, VA, placed in two events, winning 5th place in Accounting Analysis and Decision Making and 6th place in Microeconomics. Faculty advisor Patsy Taylor was also recognized for her 25 years of service as a PBL advisor.
Phi Beta Lambda is a national business honor society. The organization’s focus is on future business leaders of America and is one of the largest career student business organizations in the world. PBL inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences.
