Hawks Women’s Tennis Preseason Favorites In New League
HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Chowan Women's Tennis team enter the first year of competition in the Conference Carolinas with the bar set high as the league picked the Hawks to take home the title for the 2018 season.
The Hawks moved from the CIAA to the Conference Carolinas this season. Chowan tasted success multiple times in their former conference, raising the North Division title four consecutive years including two CIAA tournament titles in 2014 and 2016.
Chowan secured seven place votes along with a second, sixth, and eighth place tally. Defending champion, Limestone, is picked to finish second in front of Southern Wesleyan.
2017 Conference Carolinas Tournament Champion, Mount Olive, is selected to finish fourth, with Barton rounding out the top five.
North Greenville, Erskine, Belmont Abbey, Converse, King, and Lees-McRae are picked to finish 6-11.
Chowan hits the courts against Meredith on February 13 at home.
