CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced on Tuesday CIAA Volleyball Players and Coach of the Week for Week Four of the 2017 season.

Rookie, Kayla Gates, earned her first CIAA honors after being named CIAA Rookie of the Week.  The Chesapake, Va. native recorded 27 kills and 36 digs during the week helping the Hawks to a 3-1 week.  Gates tallied her first career double-double in a four set loss to Fayetteville State with 11 kills and 13 digs.

Chowan returns to the court on Thursday in a CIAA Northern Division clash against Virginia State at home.
