Rivera-Garcia Competes at PGA Minority Championships

PORT ST. LUCIE, FLA.- Gaby Rivera-Garcia of the Chowan Women's Golf team competed at the PGA Minority Collegiate Golf Championships on May 12-14 at the Ryder Course in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
The PGA Minority Collegiate Championships is a 54-hole, stroke-play comprising of Division I, II, III and NAIA programs along with individuals from those divisions.
Gaby Rivera-Garcia finished fifth overall in the individual championships with a 54-hole score of 266. Rivera-Garcia started the tournament with an 84 to sit in third after the opening round.
Rivera-Garcia posted a 96 in the second round before wrapping up the tournament with an 86.
Rivera-Garcia finished fifth overall and was six strokes out of third place.
