CHARLOTTE, NC – The CIAA office announced the CIAA Softball Weekly Report on Tuesday with CU's Kayla Robins garnering CIAA Pitcher of the Week honors. Robins and the Hawks picked up three CIAA wins this week. She pitched a one-hit, 8-0 win over Shaw University on March 29th and then followed that up with a no-hit 23-0 win over Elizabeth City State University on April 1st. 

Kayla leads the NCAA in total strikeouts (243). She is third in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (12.1). The senior boasts a 1.14 earned run average and 15 wins through 23 appearances this season.

#8 Kayla Robins, Chowan 
(Sr, P – Mathews, VA) 

Kayla Robins picked up two CIAA wins this week, she pitched a one hitter in an 8-0 win over Shaw, and struck out 7 batters. She pitched a no hitter and struck out 12 in a 23-0 win over ECSU on Saturday. The senior right handed pitcher leads the nation in strikeouts with 245. In Wednesday's win over Shaw she broke the single season strikeout record (232) that she set a season ago.
