CHARLOTTE, NC – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association announced the CIAA Women's Basketball Player, Newcomer, Rookie, and Coach of the Week on Wednesday morning. CU's first year women's basketball coach, Latoya Jones, has earned Coach of the Week honors for the third time this season. 

Jones led the Hawks to back-to-back CIAA cross over wins last week to improve to 10-2 on  the year and 3-0 in league play.The Hawks downed Fayetteville State 70-61 on December 13th and followed that game up with a 91-64 win over Saint Augustine's University. 

Jones and her band of Hawks will take off the week of Christmas and return to action on December 29thwith a nonconference road game at Wingate University. They return to the Helms Center on January 14th to open CIAA North Division play against Elizabeth City State University.
