CU Softball Signs Trio for 2018
MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University softball program has announced three National Letter of Intent (NLI) signees. Miranda Glover, Mackenzie Taggart, and Beth Walker will join the Hawks for the 2018 season.
Glover currently attends Swansboro High School in North Carolina and competes for the Lady Lightning Select 18U travel teams. Chowan University Head Softball Coach Brian De Witt noted, "Miranda will be an amazing addition to our program. She has the ability to play several positions, has a strong arm, and can drive the ball. Miranda's excellent work ethic along with her 'team-first' attitude will make all of us better". Glover is short-stop and catcher.
Taggart, an outfielder and product of Dover High School, will also join the Hawks next season. Assistant Coach Ashley Archer stated, "Mackenzie will be a great addition to our roster. She brings power, speed, and a passion for the game. We are very excited to add her to the CU softball family".
Walker rounds out the list of early NLI signees for the Hawks. She currently attends the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore. She is a first baseman and catcher and will be counted on to make an immediate impact. De Witt commented, "Beth will provide us with a powerful bat in the heart of the line-up. She has great attention to details and her work ethic will fit in perfectly with her teammates. I look forward to seeing how Beth grows and leads us over her career".
The Chowan softball team takes the field in 2017 on February 3rd when the Hawks travel to compete against North Greenville University.
