Hawks Continue Competition at SCAD Invitational
SAVANNAH, GA- The Chowan University women's swim team faced a full day of competition at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) Invitational on Friday evening. The Hawks stand in ninth place in the 14-team field after compiling 96 points during the first two days of events. Wingate University holds a firm grip of first place with 895 points.
Chowan opened the day with preliminary action and concluded the evening the finals. Scores and times noted below reflect performance in Friday's finals. Complete results can be found HERE.
In the 200 yard relay, Chowan's Keitra Lloyd, Julia Chmielewska, SheAyre Bowles, and Kenya McCray posted a time of 1:39.84, good for a fifth place finish in the 19-team field.
McCray finished the 100 yard fly B-final. She finished with a time of 59.79. Megan Reid, Bowles, and Lloyd competed in the 100 yard fly C-final. Reid touched the wall at the 1:02.39 mark with Bowles and Lloyd following at the 1:02.88 and 1:03.68 marks, respectively. Chmielewska grabbed a ninth place finish in the 100 back with a time of 58.25.
Chmielewska, McCray, Sarah Hull, and Bowles teamed up for a 13th place finish in the 400 yard medley. The Hawks completed the event in 4:14.23.
The SCAD Invitational concludes on Saturday.
