CHARLOTTE, NC- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association announced the Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Week on Monday evening.  Chowan University's Jordan Payne was tabbed CIAA Player of the Week with LaToya Jones earning the nod as CIAA Coach of the Week. 

Payne, a native of Norfolk, Virginia has recorded a double-double in each of Chowan's four games this season.  She averages 17.3 points per game and 13.0 rebounds per outing.  Her top performance was a 25-point, 18-rebound outing against West Virginia State. 

In her first season as head women's basketball coach at Chowan, Coach Jones has led the Hawks to a 4-0 start on the year.  The Hawks have earned victories over West Virginia State, University of Charleston (WV), Francis Marion and Benedict. 

Chowan returns to action on Friday as the Hawks take on Fayetteville State University in nonconference play.  Tip-off is set for 5pm on the campus of Elizabeth City State University.
