CHARLOTTE, NC- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association in conjunction with the Volleyball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association has announced the CIAA Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Week.  Chowan University Head Coach Melody Tenney earned CIAA Coach of the Week accolades. 

Tenney led the Hawks to two CIAA Northern Division wins during the last week of the regular season.  Chowan captured the CIAA Northern Division title last Monday with a 3-0 win over Virginia State University.  The Hawks earned the title for the seventh time in program history and the third consecutive year.  Chowan tacked on a 3-1 win over Virginia Union University to grab the No. 1 seed in the North heading into the CIAA Championship. 

The Hawks open play at the CIAA Championship on Friday afternoon.  First serve is slated for 12pm in the Multipurpose Center on the campus of Virginia State University.
