Hudson Joins Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff
MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University athletic department and Head Women's Basketball Coach announced the addition of Monique Hudson to the women's basketball coaching staff. Hudson serves as Assistant Coach.
Head Coach LaToya Jones noted, "Monique is a great addition to our program. She has made her mark in history as a collegiate player at Gardner-Webb University, extended her career overseas as a professional athlete, and has coached boys and girls at the high school level and on the AAU circuit. I am thankful to have her as part of my staff".
Most recently, Hudson served as an assistant coach with the Carolina Flames AUU program while playing with the Carolina Rush Semi-Pro Team in Raleigh, North Carolina. She gained coaching experience with the Rocky Mount Academy varsity high school programs; serving as an assistant coach for both the boys' and girls' program for four seasons.
Hudson served as Founder/Director of the Player Development for DOMO Athletics from 2012-2014. She directed camps, clinics, and skills training sessions for youth while also gaining player development experience with the ECE Warriors Girls AAU program and the Elite Sports Network.
Hudson was a standout on the Gardner-Webb University women's basketball team. She was named Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year. As a junior, Hudson led the team to their first-ever appearance in the WNIT and concluded her career with the Runnin' Bulldogs with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament while earning Big South All-Tournament Team honors. Hudson earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Gardner-Webb in 2011.
Upon graduation she entered the professional ranks with the Euro Professional League. Hudson played in Poznan, Poland for the 2011-2012 season.
She resides in Murfreesboro.
