Hawks Conclude 2016 Season with Double Overtime Draw against Columbia International
Box Score COLUMBIA, SC- The Chowan University women's soccer team fought through two overtime periods before settling for a 0-0 draw against Columbia International University. The Hawks end the 2016 season with a Division II program-best record of 8-6-2 while the Rams move to 5-6-3 on the year.
Chowan recorded 10 shots over the course of the competition. Rebekah Beal led the effort with four shots, all of which were on-goal, while Kimberly Surio notched two shots in the contest. Four other Chowan players contributed to the shot count over the course of the competition.
Olivia Borer recorded five saves in goal for the Hawks while keeping the Rams off of the scoreboard. .
Columbia International tallied nine shots on Saturday. Janai McMaster and Angela McMaster both recorded two shots on the afternoon. Sam Wammock recorded seven saves in goal.
Four Hawks' seniors: Sarah Ghaffoor, Karen Keteltas, Madison Spain, and Kimberly Young competed in their final game wearing the Chowan Blue and White. Chowan returns to action in the fall of 2017.
