CU Volleyball Rolls to Straight Sets Win Over Bowie State
Box Score MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University volleyball squad rolled up a straight sets match win over CIAA North Divison foe Bowie State University on Sunday afternoon. The win propels the Hawks to a 13-7 overall record and 10-2 record in the CIAA. Bowie State falls to 3-15 overall and 1-12 in league play after the match.
The Hawks swept the match with set scores of 25-11, 25-6, and 25-6.
The Hawks tallied 30 kills as a team with Morgan Spencer getting a match-high seven kills. Suraya Chase and teammate Brittany Tschida each added five kills in the win.
Chowan held Bowie State to just three team kills in the match.
The Hawks host Lincoln University (PA) on Monday, October 17th in a 6:00pm match at the Helms Center. Monday's match will serve as the team's annual Dig Pink Cancer Awareness match. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to show support in the battle against cancer.
