Hurricane Matthew is on a trajectory to minimally affect our area, we will experience some wind and rain. We encourage students, faculty and staff to exercise caution.

The university is currently operating under normal conditions and will continue to operate under normal conditions. There are no plans to cancel classes or close offices.

The university will continue to closely monitoring Hurricane Matthew in partnership with local and state agencies. In the meantime, please review the many ways Chowan shares information about inclement weather:

• Students, faculty, and staff should monitor their Chowan email. This is the first way the university will communicate a weather update, so messages with a reference to the weather in the subject line merit careful review.
• Monitor the Chowan homepage and the Provost's Office/Academic Affairs social media sites on Facebook and Twitter.
