Professor Patsy Taylor received the 2015-2016 Chowan University Faculty Advisor of the Year Award. The award is given each year to recognize excellence in academic advising. All students, faculty, and staff were invited to nominate an academic advisor. Selection is based on the following criteria:  

• Availability to advisees,
• Approachability,
• Monitoring of student progress toward academic and career goals,
• Knowledge of institutional regulations, policies, and procedures, and
• Ability to make appropriate referrals.
