Tyler Burden Called Up to Vancouver Canadians
Former Chowan University baseball stand out Tyler Burden has been called up to play with the Vancouver Canadians, a Class A, Northwest League Toronto Bluejay affiliate. Burden, who was drafted by the Bluejays in the 20th round in June earlier this summer, has already made two appearances since being called up from the Bluefield Bluejays (West Virginia).
The Aulander, North Carolina native tallied 23 strikeouts in 30.0 innings of work while playing for the Bluejays. Burden boasted a 2-2 overall record and one got one save on the season.
The right handed relief pitcher was called up on September 3rd of this month and pitched on the same night for the Canandians. He has seen two innings of work in two appearances since being called up. In his first outing he three one inning of shut out ball. In his second outing he pitched one inning, giving up one hit, one walk, but also striking out a batter.
