Senior Art Show Announced
Join Chowan University on Friday, April 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm for a special reception for the Senior Art Exhibition in the Green Hall Art Galleries honoring the talents of the 2015 graduating class of Visual Art majors.
As part of the art major graduation requirements, seniors display a culminating body of work that highlights their artistic achievements. Artworks are juried for inclusion by professors. This exhibition will feature culminating bodies of artwork produced by the five graduating senior art majors – Nfon Asuquo of Virginia Beach, VA; Brittney Boone of Franklin, VA; Le'Swane Cuffee-Lewis of Virginia Beach, VA; Thirsala Wiggins of Franklin, VA; and Wendy Wilson of Cofield, NC.
“Senior art exhibitions feature a great variety of styles and media,” explains Carolyn Phillips, Chair of the Department of Visual Arts, “focusing on different art disciplines and personal aesthetics.”
The Senior Art Exhibition will be available for viewing in the Green Hall Art Galleries until May 10th, but the reception honoring the students will be on Friday, April 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, and everyone is welcome to attend. Normal gallery hours are Monday –Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
