Babyak Receives 2015 Faculty Excellence in Community Service Award
Chowan University’s Academic Affairs celebrated the spirit of service by honoring Andrew Babyak, Assistant Professor of Management, with the Faculty Excellence in Community Service Award on Tuesday, March 17th.
Babyak loves sports and uses his love of sports to benefit the community. He serves as a head coach for Murfreesboro Youth Basketball and T-Ball, the Ahoskie Baseball League, and the Roanoke-Chowan Soccer Association. In addition, he is a member of the Ahoskie Baseball League Board and director of the Roanoke-Chowan Soccer Association. When he is not coaching, he teaches Sunday school and preaches at area churches.
Babyak was one five finalists for the 2014-2015 award.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Danny Moore commented, “Dr. Babyak and the other finalists are the types of people that Theodore Roosevelt had in mind when he implored an audience to ‘do what you can, with what you have, where you are.’ They have brought those words to light—day in and day out. They have been a catalyst for action, affecting change on campus and improving the quality of life in our local communities.”
Join us in congratulating Dr. Andrew Babyak as the recipient of the 2015 Faculty Excellence in Community Service Award.
