Day for future teachers

Hosted by the Department of Teacher Education, “Day for Future Teachers” is a day for local high schools to bring their juniors and seniors who are interested in exploring careers in teacher education to Chowan’s campus to learn more about the profession and explore the program at Chowan University. This year’s keynote speaker is Clinton Todd, Northeast Region Teacher of the Year.

October 19, 2022

Registration begins at 9:00 AM, and the program begins at 9:30 AM. 

During “Day for Future Teachers,” students will:

-Attend breakouts sessions in content areas: Elementary K-6, English 9-12, Mathematics 9-12, Science 9-12, Social Studies 9-12, Health & PE K-12, Music K-12
-Hear from a keynote speaker: Clinton Todd, Northeast Region Teacher of the Year
-Jason Caldwell, Director, TeachNC
-Enjoy a lunch in The Chowan Room
-Take a campus tour & learn more about Chowan from Anna Eure, Chowan Admissions
-Visit the Campus Bookstore

Registration for each Day for Future Teachers participant is $5, which includes lunch. Schools, please bring a check with you on October 19th made payable to Chowan University for your participants.
