Chowan University Welcomes Caleb Riggleman as Interim VP for Business Affairs

Mar 22, 2024 by Zoe Beale

Chowan University is pleased to announce the appointment of Caleb Riggleman as the Interim Vice President for Business Affairs. Riggleman brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role, and the university is excited to have him on board.

A native of Beverly, West Virginia, Riggleman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering, with a Minor in Energy Systems Engineering, from Marietta College. Prior to joining Chowan University, he served as a Transportation Engineer for the West Virginia Department of Transportation, where he gained valuable insights into the intricacies of the transportation industry.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the new opportunity, Riggleman stated, “I am looking forward to working with a college campus again, and I’m excited to help facilitate the Life Skills program and see it come to life. I think it is an excellent change up to what a stereotypical 4-year college degree has come to look like.”

Riggleman’s impressive background extends beyond his professional achievements. As an All-American offensive lineman at Marietta College, he was recognized as the Male Athlete of the Year. Additionally, he is the middle child among five siblings, with two brothers and two sisters. Riggleman has been happily married to his wife, a middle school special education teacher, for nearly three years.

In his new role as Interim Vice President for Business Affairs, Riggleman will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of Chowan University. His extensive knowledge and dedication to excellence make him a valuable addition to the university’s leadership team.

Reflecting on his personal values, Riggleman shared a verse that has resonated with him, Ephesians 4:1-3: “Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”

Chowan University is confident that Caleb Riggleman’s appointment as Interim Vice President for Business Affairs will contribute to the continued growth and success of the institution. His passion for education and commitment to fostering a supportive campus environment align perfectly with the university’s mission.
