Lynn Vann, Human Resources Coordinator, and Tim Steinrock, Director of Human Resources both enter retirement beginning June 1, 2020. 

Lynn Vann has been employed as the Human Resources Coordinator for Chowan University since March 2008. A lifetime resident of Hertford County, prior to Chowan, she spent sixteen years as the Bookkeeper at The Corner Shop in St John. Lynn also worked at the Blue Ridge Shoe Factory as a Chief Payroll Clerk, Riddick and Urquhart, CPA, and part-time at H&R Block as a tax professional for eight years.  “In the twelve years of Lynn's employment with Chowan University, she has been not only an exceptional employee but a valued member of the Chowan family,” shared Emily Terry, Human Resources Manager.   Lynn is planning to spend her retirement volunteering for her church and spending time with her family and friends. 

Tim Steinrock joined the University in October 2018.  Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, he earned his Master of Science in education from Elmira College and his Bachelor of Science in education from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. Prior to Chowan, Steinrock served as Associate Vice President for Human Resources at Elizabethtown College (PA) and Associate Vice President & Director of Human Resources at Albright College.  Danny Davis, Vice President for Business and Finance stated “although Tim has been with the University a short time, he has been instrumental in leading a number of transformative changes which has enabled significant advancements for all Chowan employees.”  Steinrock has returned home to Pennsylvania where he looks forward to spending time with family, especially his new grandchild.
