Emily V. Terry joins the Chowan University staff as Human Resources Manager, replacing Tim Stienrock who is retiring at the end of May.  

“Emily comes to us with an extensive background and her experience in process management is an asset that will allow the University to work more efficiently,” stated Danny Davis, Vice President for Business and Finance. “She will continue Tim’s plan to help elevate Chowan University beyond our expectations and be an advocate for its employees” he added. 

Emily is a 2004 graduate of Chowan University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Prior to her return to Chowan, Emily spent fifteen years in human resource, quality, and process improvement at Vidant Health. 

“I am excited to return to Chowan University and feel like I am coming home” stated Emily.  She continued, “as a lifetime resident of Murfreesboro, I realize the impact that this University has not only on the local community but also the quality of education that it provides the students that attend.” 

Emily and her husband, Patrick, have three children, Parker, Paige, and Payton.
