Chowan University Welcomes Amber Simpson as New Associate Minister
Chowan University warmly welcomes Amber Simpson as the new Associate Minister. She resides in Murfreesboro with husband Scotti and son Martin. Her education includes an MDiv in Theology from Central Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.S. in Secondary Education from Jacksonville State University. Simpson has held various ministry positions as well as being a high school science teacher. Her time teaching revealed an inner love for working with young adults and adolescents. Her goal as Chowan’s Associate Minister is, "to serve as a minister in a position that cultivates deep faith and service as collaborators with God, build meaningful relationships, and welcomes all members of God's creation to the table of fellowship through radical hospitality."
Simpson is excited to hear the stories students have to share that show God's love and provision woven together. She looks forward to encouraging students to reflect on their unique experiences and to envision the road ahead of them. “I have met many hard-working students who are striving to change the trajectory of their lives,” Simpson remarks. “It is inspiring. And the students are what I love most about Chowan.”
Simpson is excited to embark on a new chapter in her life with Chowan, believing that God has placed her in this setting to help strengthen her sense of call while connecting with young adults and sharing the love of Christ with them.
