CU Women’s Soccer Picked To Finish Fourth
Entering the third year of Conference Carolinas action for the Chowan Women's Soccer program, the Hawks were picked to finish fourth in the league's preseason poll.
The past two seasons, the Hawks saw their season come to a close in the Conference Carolinas semifinals. Chowan finished with a 9-7-1 overall record last season under the direction of Fernando Zuniga.
The Blue and White returns a plethora of talent from last season as the Hawks return nine of 11 starters from last season, as goalkeeper Olivia Borer graduated. Chowan is led by two-time First Team All-Conference Carolinas selection, Carolina Lucci, all-conference selection Sabrina Henderson, Sydney Henderson, Asia Fort, Rebekah Langley, and Shannon Park.
Chowan will look to prove some people wrong as the Hawks were voted to finish 10th and 11th in the preseason poll despite the consensus falling at fourth. Defending champion, Limestone, looks to defend their title with Belmont Abbey closely behind in second. North Greenville rounds out the top-three with Emmanuel predicted to finish fifth.
Chowan kicks-off the season at home on September 5 against Lincoln Memorial. To see the rest of the Conference Carolinas preseason poll click here.
