New League, New Opponents: King University

As Chowan Athletics transitions into the Conference Carolinas, each week throughout the summer, gocuhawks.com will profile a different Conference Carolinas school as a way to introduce our new league opponents in 2019-20. This week's profile features King University.

Location: Bristol, TN

Nickname: Tornado

Founded: 1876

Colors: Blue and Red

Conference History: Has been a member of Conference Carolinas since 2011 after transitioning from NAIA during the 2010-11 academic year.

Athletic Highlights: Has 22 Conference Carolinas Championships, including six Conference Tournament titles and 16 Regular Season Championships.  In 1922, King (then King College), defeated Lenoir-Rhyne 206-0 in football, a record that only Georgia Tech has achieved.  King's women's wrestling program has four NWCA Duals Championships and four WCWA National Championships.
