Hawks Soar To Win On Senior Day
The Chowan Men's Lacrosse team took an early lead and never relinquished it as the Hawks picked up the 21-16 victory over Lees-McRae on Senior day in Conference Carolinas action on Saturday afternoon.

Patrick Egan posted a career-high seven goals to lead the Hawks. Egan tallied two assist on the afternoon. Noah Holloway also posted a career-high six goals to go with three assists.
Austin Lee produced four goals and two assists. Alex Clabaugh recorded a program-best five assists.
Sean Bates tied a program-best 18 face-off wins in a single contest. Bates, Jaxon Martin, Quintin Bender and Alex Clabaugh scored one goal each. Bender tallied an assist.
Slater Bender picked up the win in goal with 12 saves.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter:
Austin Lee put the Hawks on the board before Lees-McRae struck twice to take a 2-1 lead.
Alex Clabaugh and Patrick Egan found the back of the net to hand the lead back to the Hawks, 3-2.
After a two-goal swing by the Bobcats, Patrick Egan scored a man-up goal off an assist from Alex Clabaugh. Noah Holloway scored an unassisted goal to give the Hawks a 5-4 lead.
Second Quarter:
Both teams would trade goals as Alex Clabaugh found Patrick Egan for a man-up goal before Egan found Austin Lee for a tally, 7-6.
Noah Holloway and Patrick Egan found the back of the net off assists from Alex Clabaugh and Austin Lee to give the Hawks a 9-6 advantage.
Lees-McRae would close the gap to 9-8 at the intermission.
Third Quarter:
LMC evened the score early in the period at 10-all after Quintin Bender found Noah Holloway for a score.
The Hawks would take control of the contest midway through the period with three straight goals. Austin Lee, Noah Holloway, and Quintin Bender found the back of the net during the run to lead 13-10.
Chowan lead 14-12 heading to the final stanza.
Fourth Quarter:
Both teams would swap goals as Noah Holloway, Patrick Egan, and Austin Lee scored to push the lead to 16-13.
The Bobcats scored on the extra-man opportunity, but the Hawks quickly responded as Sean Bates won the face-off and found the back of the net. Patrick Egan found Noah Holloway on the man-up advantage to push the lead to 18-14.
Jaxon Martin scored off an assist from Noah Holloway. Patrick Egan scored two goals in the span of 11 seconds to give the Hawks a 21-15 lead in the final minute.
LMC scored but the Hawks took the victory 21-16.
