Chowan University's Marquise Lanier has been named the NCBWA Southeast Hitter of the Week, as selected by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA), the association announced Tuesday (Mar. 26) afternoon.

Marquise Lanier garnered his second Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors earlier today (more about that here), and picked up his first NCBWA regional honor.  Lanier had a monster week after hitting .500 with eight hits, including seven extra-base hits (2B, 6 HR), with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. Lanier's best game came in a 13-6 game one win over Mount Olive, as he went 3-for-4 with two homers, four RBI and four runs scored.  Lanier led the Hawks to a 2-2 record during the week including a 2-1 record against nationally-ranked Mount Olive.
