Chowan University Criminal Justice Club Honors Law Enforcement at Annual Officer Appreciation Dinner

Dec 13, 2018 by Staff Reports

The Chowan University Criminal Justice Club held its annual Officer Appreciation Dinner on Thursday, November 29th, at the Murfree Center in honor of local law enforcement.

Members of the Criminal Justice Club prepared a home-cooked meal for the Murfreesboro Police Department, Chowan Public Safety, Hertford County Sheriff’s Office, and Officer Bass from Nash County. Students prepared appetizers, followed by the main course of lasagna, spaghetti, and garlic bread. The officers also enjoyed a dessert dish.

The Criminal Justice Club teamed up with the Mimes of God (MOG), a student ministry that spreads the word of God through miming both on campus and in the community. Kerrel Webb, a senior history major, also serenaded the group with a few songs.

For more than a decade, the Criminal Justice Club has hosted the Officer Appreciation Dinner to thank local law enforcement for their service. This act of fellowship allows students to show that they notice and appreciate all the ways in which officers serve the community.

Please join the Chowan University Criminal Justice Club in thanking local law enforcement for their service and dedication to the community this holiday season and throughout the year.
