Chowan University Introduces Two More Ways to Have Faith in Your Future

Jul 20, 2018 by Staff Reports

With students returning in less than one month, Chowan University is proud to launch two new initiatives that put faith in your future into action. Both programs are geared toward decreasing costs and increasing student success, thus ensuring that a bright future is even more accessible for students.

Chowan University is committed to student academic success and access to required texts books is a critical first step. The Hawk Flight Book Program will enable affordable access to required textbooks and computer codes students must have each semester in pursuit of their academic goals.  Hawk Flight Book Program is designed at a low per semester cost which should save students as much as 50% on average over traditional textbook purchase programs.  For students taking advantage of the program, books will be available before classes even start each semester, eliminating related hassles such as long bookstore lines, bookstore vouchers, and time-consuming buy-back programs. More information about the Hawk Flight Book Program is available here.

Chowan University’s Finish Program is designed to guide encourage students to finish their undergraduate degree in four years, thereby eliminating the accumulation of unnecessary student loan debt. With personal academic guidance and helpful resources, students will have a clear vision of their goals. At the core of the Finish Program is the commitment to four key success behaviors: completing at least 30 credits per year, meeting priority course registration deadlines, meeting with academic advisors every semester, and setting and following a four-year degree plan. These behaviors have been identified as overwhelming indicators in the likelihood of student success in attaining their degrees. More information about the Finish Program can be found here.
