Hawks Men’s Soccer Comes Back To Defeat Concord
MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Chowan Men's Soccer team came from an early two goal deficit to reclaim victory 3-2 over the visiting Concord Mountain Lions to remain unbeaten at home on Wednesday afternoon.

Josh Baker had his boot in all three goals for the Hawks recorded five points scoring two goals and notching an assist.
James Scott tallied his first goal of the season. Barkan Koeprueluegil and Terell Williamson recorded an assist in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Half:
Chowan went on the attack in the opening portion of the match as Jamie McNicholas' shot went wide followed by Ben Chapman's heading attempt was saved.
Concord countered in the 16' of play as the Mountain Lions took a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later, Terell Williamson tried to find the equalizer but his attempt bounced off the post.
The Hawks continued to attack through the middle stages of the half but could not get the ball past the Mountain Lions' keeper.
Chowan went into the halftime whistle trailing 1-0 for only the second time this season at home.
2nd Half:
Concord extended their lead in the 53' as the Mountain Lions converted on a penalty kick as the attacker was tripped up inside the box on the far side.
Chowan didn't waiver as in the 57' after Jeremy Brooker's shot was saved, Terell Williamson relayed the rebound over to Josh Baker for the score to cut the deficit to 2-1.
The Hawks continued to attack keeping the ball in the attacking third of the field. After a yellow card by Concord, Josh Baker sent in a cross finding the head of James Scott for the equalizing goal in the 65'.
The eventual game winner would not come too long after as Barkan Koeprueluegil slotted a pass over to Josh Baker at the top of the box finding the back of the net far post in the 71'.
CU wanted to find an insurance goal but was to no avail as Terell Williamson and Carl Kennedy had shots saved.
The Hawks defense kept the Mountain Lions at bay in the second half allowing only three shots (one on the penalty kick).

Chowan travels to Bristol, Tenn. to take on King (Tenn.) in a Conference Carolinas contest on Saturday, October 7. The Tornado sit at 0-6-0 in league play and 2-7-1 on the season.
